Hadaya Turner is a published motion graphics artist and video editor based in New York City. Recently, she was nominated as
BEST EDITOR FOR THE MTV MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS 2011 for her work in Kanye West's All Of The Lights.
As a graphic design major at the University of Miami, she began freelancing in the field. She then moved to New York and became a web designer for Universal Music Group. Over the next two years, she helped to design and build sites for a variety of artists such as Akon, Ashanti, Erykah Badu, India.Arie, Lil Wayne, Nelly, Owl City and Sam Sparro. This transition to web design was extremely rewarding, but her interest in video editing, compositing and motion graphics would soon lead her down a new path.
After one year of studying 2D Animation, Hadaya accepted the position of Motion Graphics Director for Lucky Duck Productions, an agency that specializes in programming for Nickelodeon. She also continued freelancing, and one of her videos promoting Erykah Badu's upcoming album, New Amerykah Part Two, gained the attention of the acclaimed director, Hype Williams. She then became his editor for a list of music videos, featuring artists including Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes and Nicki Minaj.
Hadaya looks forward to the endless opportunities that this growing creative industry will bring.
